The Forbes magazine made a list of 10 most wanted criminals, three of the ten are Russian born. The list of the worst fugs is compiled annually with the help of information from American security services – FBI, CIA, US Drug Enforcement Administration and others. Russian nationals have found such huge representation in the list for the first time.

Semion Mogilevich has been on the list since 2003. He faces charges of money laundering, $150m fraud, contract murders and arms dealing. In Russia he gained notoriety for defrauding shareholders of Arbat-Prestizh cosmetics retail chain.

The US police has looked for Alimzhan Tokhtakhunov (a.k.a. Taiwanchik “for his Asian features”) since 2002. He is charged with bribing figure skating judges during the Olympics in Salt Lake City. In 2003 he was arrested by the Italian police and faced extradition, but the Italians freed him. Taiwanchik is also accused of illegal arms selling and money laundering. According to our source, Tokhtakhunov visits Ukraine regularly despite international arrest warrant.

Doku Umarov is the last on the list. He heads so-called Caucasus Emirate (aims to establish fundamentalist Islamic state in Southern Russia). He is charged with a number of terrorist attacks: bombing of Nevsky Express train in 2007, bombing of 2 stations of Moscow’s underground in 2010 and Domodedovo airport in January 2011.
