"We are against the experiments over the children of Novgorod!" With these words some members of the Novgorod public turned to the government to dismantle so-called Filters of Petrik established in kindergartens and schools".

The authors are sure-righteous: they have the conclusions of an independent examination at the hands, concluding that water passed through the systems of additional purification became strong with heavy metals.

It is stated in a letter to the governor of the Novgorod area, Sergey Mitin that the inhabitants of Novgorod are afraid for their children's health and demand the authorities in the region to stop the use of "filters of Petrik" in social institutions, as well as to make an independent and comprehensive assessment. Simultaneously another letter was directed to the treatment and prosecution of Novgorod region, in which members of the public asked to take action on the fact of prosecutorial response to operation of the filters "Golden Formula" in the institutions.

Examination of tap water, passed through the filters "Golden Formula", was performed by analytical center of water quality monitoring called "Rosa" under the order of the public association "The assembly of indigenous Novgorodians". They took the samples at one of the kindergartens of Veliky Novgorod, and the drawing of water was conducted under the control of the public to exclude the possibility of fraud.

As demonstrated by examination, the tap water in Veliky Novgorod fully complies with all sanitary and hygienic standards and does not require further purification. But the water purified with a filter ZF-10C («Golden Formula") had the concentration of lead increased up to 10 times from baseline, and zinc was up to 5 times. In addition, silver ions were found in excess of requirements of SanPiN. However, the content of manganese, iron, chlorine, aluminum, and organic substances field-treatment decreased, but their concentrations were below normal in the original tap water.

Now filters "Golden Formula" are installed in all schools and kindergartens of Novgorod and the Novgorod region, overall 336 additional water purification systems of this type are working in the region, 237 educational institutions and health care are equipped with them. Note that on July 7, 2010 the inter-regional public organization "Public Control in Action" filed a claim in the Perovsky District Court of Moscow in favor of an indefinite number of consumers against the manufacturer OOO "Holding" Golden Formula "and the seller - the International consumer society “Golden Formula Metropolis”.

The reason for filing the suit were the results of examination of the filter "Golden Formula ZF-Emergency", commissioned by the "social control" in the independent laboratory of the Analytical Center of Water Quality Control Company "Rosa". Six filters from the shops of the city were chosen for examination. It showed that the abatement device is ineffective, and its characteristics stated in the passport did not correspond to reality. A proceeding in the case has not been completed yet - the next court hearing is scheduled on January 17, 2011.

Meanwhile, the inventor of the filters, Viktor Petrik is successfully fighting for the restoration of his good name. On December, 23 the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region ruled on the suit by OOO "Holding" Golden Formula" against a number of media outlets that published materials relating to the company's activities, in particular, to filters "Golden Formula". As the representatives of Viktor Petrik reported, it was decided that the publication Rosbalt, "Komsomolskaya Pravda" and "Novaya Gazeta" should pay 200.000 rubles to the plaintiff, and also publish retractions on their pages.
