Moscow's Savelovsky court postponed hearing on defamation lawsuit filed by the Federal Security Service (FSB) against the deputy Aleksander Khinshtein until October 25. By postponing the litigation judge Tatiana Adamova satisfied the request of All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK).  Representative of VGTRK, the second defendant in the case, appealed to court to postpone the hearing because she could not be present at the litigation due to illness.

According to The Russian Mafia web-site (rumafia.com), the FSB filed the claim in connection with Khinshtein’s words on live radio Vesti.FM. The plaintiffs asked to refute his words and recognize them to be false and defamatory for the company business reputation. The lawsuit mentions no monetary claims. In turn, the lawyer Shota Gorgadze, who represents the interests of Khinshtein, objected to the claim before the court and promised to preset at the next hearing evidence proving his client right.

On April 15, 2011 Khinshtein said in a live radio broadcast that the FSB and other agencies were involved in "hushing up and protecting underground casinos in Moscow."
